So i just got laid of from my job but everything has been under the table...?
I have been working at this restaurant since july 2011. Im 16, and they were paying me cash the whole time. Over the past few months they have been giving me less and less shifts until today when they told me i wouldn't be schedual for a short period of time. Upon asking if i should file for unemployment i was told i was being laid off. This makes no sense since they have hired 2 new people and have been giving them my shifts. what legal actions can i take? they signed my permit papers, but never actually paid me with a check. does that make me ineligible for unemployment or will they just get in trouble if i file? what should i do :(
